What is the problem that is solved by removal, instead of treating the program as completed (if for unfortunate reasons) or waiting for a fork if there are necessary fixes?

Sure, this is better, I see now removal may be a bit extreme for a such a simple pkg. I would at least like there to be a note to users about this and maybe to point to alternatives like gdu ( which is exactly the same functionality ).

As the reporter of #536471, I would prefer this package to remain with a warning on attribute access. I strongly believe there would be a fork with a new maintainer of this package once this situation becomes more well-known. Thank you!

You may want to try this for meantime (I tried to avoid any changes in NCDU release, except for new Zig version support and modernizing build logic)
